USIP Religion & Psychosocial Support

Recently, the United States Institute of Peace highlighted the peacebuilding work carried out by the Peace and Hope team in Colombia. In the Uraba Antioqueño region, Peace and Hope focuses its efforts in supporting displaced communities, especially women who are family heads, in dealing with their emotional trauma as survivors of political violence, affirming their fundamental rights, promoting dialogue for lament and hope, and mutual support among different groups. This spiritual holistic work is done in collaboration with local congregations. Peace and Hope is dedicated to equipping church leaders in marginal areas of the territory to support the survivors and their communities.
